Exciting Update from the EU Food Safety Project!

We are thrilled to share two important missions took place over the last month as part of our ongoing efforts for improving food safety and animal disease crises preparedness. Implementing period 05/2024 – 05/2027 is now in full swing, featuring site visits and engaging discussions with key stakeholders.

The first mission was dedicated to the simulation of inspections of the activities of the ‘veterinary department’ and its district offices, along with laboratory personnel, related to the Brucellosis, Tuberculosis, and Foot-and-Mouth Disease eradication programmes. We visited farms to assess procedures' effectiveness in responding to potential challenges. Based on the findings the EU FSP experts and the ‘veterinary department’ are working together to improve the control system.

The second mission assessed the ‘official’ control of non-animal origin products concerning food safety. During this mission, inspectors, assistant inspectors, and food engineers from the ‘primary health care department’ gained valuable insights of EU regulations and best practices, complemented by practical site visits.

Thanks to everyone involved for your commitment to enhancing food safety!

Together, we are making a difference!
